Cattle Producers Australia conveys to Mrs Doris McKay profound condolences on the passing of Ashley. As a fearless advocate of the interests of regional communities and the cattle industry in particular, Ashley has featured as a highly respected influence for fairness and reform over decades. His participation in and dedication to the Cattlemen’s Union and its principles is well recorded and widely appreciated. Of more recent times Ashley’s recognition of the pressing need for cattle producer representative reform at the national level led to his involvement with the Cattle Producers Australia Implementation Committee. Implementation Committee where his opinion was always highly valued.

Always a person of tremendous presence, Ashley was a gifted horseman and cattleman and his company and counsel will be sorely missed (note: picture of Santa Gertrudis cattle was a photo taken by Ashely of his steers).
